PAMMON LINNAEUS OF CRAMER, 1777

Pap[ilio] Eq[ues] Troj[anus] pammon, Cramer, 1777: 69 , 150, pl.141, fig. B [original plate 108, fig. B]. China; ‘Cte de Coromandel’; Bengal.

Papilio Eques View in CoL Achivus pammon, Stoll, 1782b: 3 [No. 13].

Material examined. 1 ♂ with Felder label ‘ Java Coll. Eyndh’ ( BMNH (E)#665385) is quite a good match for original plate 108, fig. B, However, it is unlikely to be from Java because the hindwing tails are longer than would be expected for material from this locality. It is possible that this is a Cramer specimen that has been mislabelled .

Identity. Papilio (Menelaides) polytes Linnaeus, 1758 .
