Material examined. No potential Cramer specimens located. There is a possible Cramer specimen in RNHL.

Identity. Papilio (Pterourus) troilus Linnaeus, 1758 .

Papilio Eques Trojanus View in CoL tullus, Stoll, 1782b: 2 [No. 34].

Material examined. Syntype ♀, with van Lennep label ‘No.34. TULLUS. Cr. III. 277. C. D.’ and with Felder label ‘ Surinam Coll. Lenep’ ( BMNH (E)#665009) is a good match for original plate 247, figs B, B; it has been re-pinned and the wings have some repairs . 2 ♀ syntypes, each with Felder label ‘ Surinam Coll. Lenep’ ( BMNH (E)#665010–011) match original plate 247, figs B, B slightly less well; both have repairs to the wings .

Current status. Junior subjective synonym of Parides sesostris ( Cramer, 1779) ( Tyler et al., 1994) .
