Type Locality: China, Sichuan, Moupin (= Baoxing).
Vernacular Names: Stripe-backed Shrew.
Distribution: Montane forests of N Sichuan.
Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.
Discussion: Subgenus Sorex . Revised by Hoffmann (1987). The species is sympatric with S. bedfordiae in C Sichuan.
