Type locality. St. Lucia ( Antilles ), Cayenne ( French Guiana).

Remarks. The species was reported previously from a wide geographic range. Records for the species have been published for Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela ( Walker 1850; Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2010a; 2011b). We collected specimens in Chaco Province. The species was collected in the Paranense and Chaco floristic provinces ( Sanborn et al. 2011a).

New provincial records. Chaco, Dto. Cmte. Fernandez, 3 km E. of Pres. Roque Saenz Peña, 8-I-1988, Al Sanborn Coll. (1 male, MSHC); Chaco, Dto. Cmte. Fernandez, 3 km E. of Pres. Roque Saenz Peña, 8-I-1988, F. Noriega coll. (1 male, MSHC).
