Type locality. Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Remarks. The species has been collected in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay ( Metcalf 1963a; Ruffinelli 1970; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Martinelli & Zucchi 1997; De Santis et al. 2007; Sanborn 2011a). It has been reported from Buenos Aires ( Berg 1879; Torres 1945b) and Santa Fe ( Bolcatto et al. 2006; De Santis et al. 2006; 2007) Provinces in Argentina. We collected specimens in Corrientes Province. The species is associated with the Chaco, Espinal, and Pampas floristic provinces ( Sanborn et al. 2011a).

New provincial records. Corrientes, Dto. Monte Caseros, 1 km So. of Mota Piedritas, 4-I-1988, Heath- Sanborn-Noriega Coll. (one male, MSHC, one male, AFSC).
