Chonosia atrodorsalis Torres 1945a: 62 View in CoL (type material examined).
Type locality. Amaicha, Tucumán Province, Argentina.
Remarks. The species was reported from La Rioja and Tucumán Provinces ( Torres 1945a). We collected the species in Salta, San Juan, and Tucumán Provinces and the first author was sent specimens from Catamarca. The species is associated with the Monte floristic province ( Sanborn et al. 2011a).
New provincial records. Prov. Catamarca, El Potrero , 3500 ft., 3-IX-1973, A. & E. Hulse coll., on Larrea (four males, AFSC) ; Salta, Payagasta , 14-I-1988, J.E. & M.S. Heath-Al Sanborn-F. Noriega coll. (one male, AFSC) ; Salta, Ruta 68— 27.5 km No. of Cafayate, 16-I-1988, Heath-Sanborn-Noriega Coll. (two males, MSHC) ; San Juan, 0.5 km S Las Baldecitos , 7-I-1987, Al Sanborn Coll. (one male, MSHC) .
