Shaanxinus rufus View in CoL sp. n.
Figs 51–56 View FIGURES 51 – 58
Material. Holotype: ♂ ( SMF), China, Shaanxi Prov., S flanks of Taibai Shan, above Houshenzi, secondary broadleaved forest, 1300–1700 m, 23.VI.1997, leg. J. Martens & P. Jäger. Paratypes: 2 ♂ ( SMF), same, above Houshenzi, secondary broadleaved forest, 1300–1700 m, 19.VI.1997, leg. J. Martens & P. Jäger; ♂ ( ZMMU), same locality, 20.VI.1997, leg. J. Martens & P. Jäger.
Diagnosis. The new species is closely related to Shaanxinus anguilliformis comb. n. described from Hebei Province by Xia et al. (2001) as Walckenaeria anguilliformis Xia, Zhang, Gao, Fei, Rui & Kim 2001 . The differences between these species are as follows: the new species is rather larger (length of S. anguilliformis ca 2.21–2.27, of S. rufus sp. n. ca 3.00–3.20); the shape of the palpal tibia (dorsal view) and of the head elevation: in the new species the head elevation is narrowed distally, being rounded in S. anguilliformis , and the clypeus in S. a nguilliformis is much wider than in S. rufus n. sp. (cf. Figs 55, 56 & 57, 58 View FIGURES 51 – 58 ).
Etymology: The specific name is derived from the Latin “ rufus ”, meaning red, referring to the reddish carapace; adjective.
