Genus Schizothorax Heckel, 1838

In Keivany et al. (2016) Schizothorax curvifrons (Heckel, 1838, valid as Schizopyge curvifrons ) was reported from Sistan basin. This species is distributed in Nepal, India, Pakistan, Kashmir and Afganistan ( Eschmeyer et al. 2018) and its occurrence in Iran has never been corroborated in any other studies. We think this report could be a misidentification of S. pelzami .
