Seminemacheilus tongiorgii Nalbant View in CoL [T. T.] & Bianco [P. G.] 1998: 113; Type locality: Large water spring near Darab town, Kul River basin, Iran. Holotype: IZA 801. Paratypes: ISBB uncat. (1).

Common name: Pr: Loch-e Hormuz, Sagmahi-e Hormuz, En: Hormuz loach, Tongiorgi loach.

Diagnosis: A short and deep body, deeper than in related species in Iran, and a deep and short caudal peduncle, Scales are scattered and non-imbricate.

Meristic characters: D: 7–9, A: 5–6, P: 9–11, V: 5–7, LL: incomplete, reaching the level of the dorsal fin, SC: whole body except belly anterior to the pelvic fins, DP: weakly to well-developed, PA: absent, SOG: present.

Distribution: Kor basin ( Fig. 327). Only found in Kor River.

Taxonomy: Golzarianpour et al. (2011) placed in Oxynoemacheilus .

Conservation: IUCN: Data Deficient ( Devi and Bogutskaya 2009b).
