Diagnosis

This species strongly resembles S. setifrons Sidorenko, 1997 in the surstylus, but can be distinguished from the latter by the gonopod ( Figure 7 (d)): slightly concave between ventral and dorsal processes; ventral process with sparse, short hairs along apical margin.

Description

Male and female: Frons mostly brown. First flagellomere pale. Clypeus brownish. Palpus yellow. Mesoscutum yellow, with thin, longitudinal, brown stripe medially in female. Scutellum yellow in male, brownish in female. Pleura yellow below. Abdominal 2nd to 5th tergites II – V yellow medially, brown laterally; caudal bands on 4th and 5th tergites protruded medially; 6th tergite yellow anteriorly, dark brown posteriorly ( Figure 4 (e)).

Type specimens

Holotype male ( SCAU, No. 121983), CHINA: Mount Qizimei, Xuanen , Hubei, 30.333°N, 109.683°E, altitude 1200 m, 5 June 2012, swept over tussock, XY Xu . Paratypes: 5 males, 1 female ( SCAU, Nos. 121984 – 89), K Liu, JM Lu, XY Xu, other data same as holotype .

Etymology

Patronym after the collector Ms Xiao-Yang Xu (SCAU).

China (Hubei).
