Type Locality: " Chili " restricted by Thomas (1912 e) to "S. Chili (Temuco)"; Cabrera (1957) restricted the locality to "alrededores de Santiago " [ Chile]. Honacki et al. (1982) listed the type locality for G. c. furax .

Vernacular Names: Lesser Grison.
