( Fig. 6E View FIGURE 6 )

Material examined. PG: 3 males ( ZUTC 6700 ), Abu-Musa I., sandy, Coll. A. Dehghani, 10 May 2016 ; GO: 1 male, 1 female ( ZUTC 6701 ), Chabahar Bay , Tis, rocky/cobble, Coll. A. Dehghani, 2 May 2016 .

Distribution. PG and GO ( Iran).

Regional records. PG: Iran ( Naderloo & Türkay 2012, present study); GO: Iran (present study).

Habitat. Sandy/boulder intertidal. Chace (1988) recorded the species from rocky intertidal to 18 m deep.

Remark. Anker (2018) examined Miers's (1881) type material deposited in the NHM and mentioned that A. paracrinitus is restricted to African Atlantic coast. The Indo-West Pacific members of this large pantropical complex seem to belong to another entity (A. Anker, pers. comm.). Previously examined material from the Atlantic Ocean show five genetically distinct cryptic species including three with generally the same color pattern. Three with spots on the abdomen appear closer to A. paracrinitus and two others appear closer to A. rostratus (Knowlton et al., 2018) . The Indo-West Pacific material shows different color pattern from that of the Atlantic material, so our material needs to be revised using molecular and detailed morphological characters.
