Description. Measurements (n=2): HW: 0.42–0.45; HL: 0.25–0.28; OL: 0.10–0.11; TL: 0.05; AL: 0.62–0.65; PL: 0.32; PWmax: 0.55–0.57; PWmin: 0.51–0.52; ESL: 0.60–0.62; EW: 0.72; MTbL (averaged): 0.33; MTrL (averaged): 0.15 (MTrL 1–4: 0.05; MTrL 5: 0.10); AW: 0.67–0.74; BL: 2.01–2.02.
In general appearance similar to S. fortiterpunctata sp.n. Habitus as in Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 . Body reddish-brown, with slightly darker head and paler abdomen; mouthparts, antennae and legs yellowish (antennomeres 9–11 slightly darker in one specimen). Punctation of head irregular, distinctly denser, coarser and deeper in middle; punctation of pronotum dense, slightly larger than that in middle part of head, sparser and finer in medioapical and mediobasal portions and finer in lateral parts, with narrow and transverse impunctate area in front of basal margin; punctation of elytra distinctly coarser than that on pronotum, denser and finer around scutellum, sparser and finer along suture.
Head 1.6 times as broad as long, with small indistinct semicircular impression in front of ocelli. Antennomere 3 about as long as 2, 4 very small, about as long as broad, 5 slightly longer and indistinctly broader than 4, 6 small, about as long as broad, slightly shorter than 5, 7 distinctly longer and broader than 6, 8 slightly shorter than 7, 9–10 slightly longer and broader than 8.
Pronotum 1.2–1.3 times as broad as head, with indistinct oval impression in medioapical (one specimen) and wide semicircular depression in mediobasal portion; lateral margins with indistinct and irregular small crenulation.
Elytra 1.1–1.2 times as long as broad, 1.8–1.9 times as long as pronotum.
Male unknown.
Female. Posterior margins of abdominal tergite VIII ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 11–15 ) and sternite VIII ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11–15 ) rounded. Genital segment as in Fig. 15 View FIGURES 11–15 .
Remarks. Based on the morphology of the body, this species is related to S. fortiterpunctata sp.n., but differs by the paler coloration of the smaller body ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ), details of punctation of the head and the pronotum, and the presence of indistinct impressions in middle potion of the pronotum with slightly finer crenulation of lateral margins. The studied specimens were collected in Gaoligongs Shan mountains in Yunnan ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 17 ) at elevations from 3000 to 3050 m a.s.l. by sifting of leaf litter, moss and various debris under rhododendrons and various broadleaved shrubs near small creeks and snowfields (A. Smetana†, pers. comm.).
