Distribution. ARGENTINA ( Flint 1972), BRAZIL [Paraná, Santa Catarina, São Paulo ( Marinoni & Almeida 2000; Blahnik et al. 2004)]. This species is reported for the first time for Rio Grande do Sul state. In the checklist provided by Paprocki et al. (2004), this species is cited for Amazonas and Pará states, but the references provided did not include the occurrence of the species to these states. Therefore, we did not consider these two states within the distributional area of S. (R.) spinulosa .
