Discussion: Reviewed by Wetzel (1985 a). The original spelling of Unaues Rafinesque was Unaüs, which required a substitution of ue for ü. The spellings Cholaepus , Chaelopus , and Choelopus of various authors are all incorrect subsequent spellings of Choloepus Illiger. Cholopus Agassiz, 1847 , is an invalid emendation of Choloepus Illiger.
