Torodora lichanosa Park & De Prins View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Figs. 10 View FIGURE 10 A–D)

Types. Holotype: male, Musée du Congo, [Katanga], Lubumbashi , xii.1938, Ch. Seydel, gen. slide no. CIS-7231/ Park, in RMCA . Paratype: 1♂ Musée du Congo, [Katanga], Elisabethville [Lubumbashi], 20.iii.1935, Ch. Seydel, gen. slide no. CIS-7239/ Park, in RMCA .

Diagnosis. The species is superficially similar to T. semnodora and T. amplignathosa sp. nov., but it can be distinguished by the weakly developed costal patch on the forewing, M 3 and CuA 1 stalked, whereas in amplignathosa , they are separated at base in the hindwing. The male genitalia are easily differentiated from those of T. amplignathosa by the juxta with long, digitate or sword-shaped caudal lobe and the slender, strongly bent, long aedeagus, as long as valva.

Description. Male ( Fig. 10A View FIGURE 10 ). Wingspan 18–20 mm.

Head: Vertex yellowish brown, with same color of lateral erect scales. Antenna slightly shorter than forewing; basal segment elongated, orange white; flagellum serrate, finely ciliate ventrally, with brownish annulations dorsally. Labial palpus upturned; second segment thickened, orange white with dark-brown scales in basal 2/3 on outer surface, orange white on inner surface; 3 rd segment longer than 2 nd segment, sharply pointed apically.

Thorax: Tegula and thorax dark brown. Hind tibia dark brown in basal half on outer surface, then yellowish white beyond; tarsi yellowish white. Forewing slightly dilated distally; ground color pale yellowish brown evenly, with a small, indistinct, elongated yellowish-white costal patch beyond 3/4 of costa; costa slightly arched near base and beyond half; apex obtuse; termen slightly concave beyond apex; fringe concolorous with ground color; venation similar to that of the preceding new species. Hindwing broader than forewing, pale grayish brown; venation with M 3 and CuA 1 shortly stalked.

Abdomen with broad spinous zones on tergites.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 10 View FIGURE 10 B–D). Uncus broad basally, slightly bent medially, more or less stout; apex rounded. Gnathos broad at base, strongly bent beyond 2/3. Valva elongated, broad at base; costa abruptly bent downward near base, then concave; ventral margin nearly straight near to middle; cucullus elongated, narrower toward apex, with rounded ventral margin and concave costal margin, densely haired on surface; sacculus narrowly presented. Juxta semi-ovate, with a large, long, digitate median process and short, triangular lateral lobes on caudal margin. Vinculum narrow, banded. Aedeagus slender, strongly bent near basal 1/3, as long as valva, slightly broad at base, then nearly parallel sided; cornuti consisting of a row of short spines, about 1/3 length of aedeagus, located beyond basal 2/3.

Distribution. DR Congo (Katanga).

Etymology. The species name is derived from the Greek, lichanos (= finger), referring to the finger-shaped juxtal median lobe in the male genitalia.
