Diagnosis: This species is similar to S. bryana in the male genitalia, but the two species can be separated by the shapes of the ventral prominence and the apex of the cucullus. In S. bryana the ventral process is strongly curved inward, and the cucullus is elongate-oval, curved at the apex, and shorter than ventral process. In contrast, in S. sphaerocopa the cucullus has a clavate apex, is strongly constricted at its base, and is longer than the ventral process.

Host plants: Cinnamomum sp. ( Lauraceae ) (Diakonoff 1973).
Distribution: Vietnam, China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia (Sumatra), India.
Remarks: Kuznetsov (1988) recorded this species from Tamdao National Park, Vinhphuc province, Vietnam, and Razowski (2009) recorded it from Sapa, Fansipan Mts.

Sorolopha rubescens Diakonoff, 1973 , Zool. Monogr. Rijksmus. Nat. Hist.: 70, fig. 108 (3 genit.). TL: Indonesia (Moluccan Island).
Diagnosis: According to Diakonoff (1973), this species superficially resembles S. bathysema Diakonoff , but the cucullus of S. rubescens protrudes ventrally in the middle, forming a pointed triangular prominence; a triangular protrusion is absent in S. bathysema . The male genitalia of S. rubescens are also similar to those of S. liochlora (Meyrick) . Sorolopha chlorotica Liu & Bai also is similar in the genitalia, but it differs superficially by the presence of a dark fuscous scaling of the basal patch. Liu & Li (2002) described the female genitalia of S. chlorotica ( S. rubescens ), which are characterized by a V-shape sterigma and two small, rounded, granulate signa. The female genitalia are also similar to those of S. prasinias , but those of S. rubescens can be distinguished by the longer V-shaped sterigma and two concave granulate signa; only one signum is present in S. prasinias .
The female genitalia are characterized by the following characters: sterigma moderate wide, V-shaped, with caudal margin expanded and deeply concave medially; colliculum long and sclerotized; ductus bursae very slender, ductus seminalis arising about 2/3 length of ductus bursae near the junction of corpus and ductus bursae; corpus bursae small, conspicuously narrowed posteriorly; two concave granulate signa.

Host plants: Unknown.
Distribution: Vietnam (new record), China, Thailand, Indonesia.
Remarks: This species is recorded for the first time from Vietnam, and it appears to be widely distributed from North to central Vietnam. The female was previously unknown.
