Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1

Diagnosis. Based on male tegmen. About 8 branches of Sc ending in longitudinal stem C; RA and RS pectinate with 5 anterior and 7 posterior branches, respectively; MP+CuA1 with 4 terminal branches; “handle vein” gently curved, and slightly stronger than other nearest crossveins; crossveins between “handle vein” and CuA1 regularly arranged, and subparallel to “handle vein”; crossveins between CuA2 and CuP almost straight. Whole tegmen fuscous.

Description. Isolated right tegmen, long and narrow. Length 38.5 mm, width 10.2 mm, ratio of length to maximal width 3.77. Precostal area fairly broad and extending for about 3/5 length of anterior margin; numerous “radial veinlets” coming forth at the base of costal area, close to each other basally and arranged in secondary intercalary pseudoveinlets distally; C reaching anterior margin slightly beyond first branch of RA; Sc ending in anterior margin at basal 3/5 tegminal length, and giving off 11 distinct and strongly oblique branches, of which 8 end in longitudinal stem C. Area between Sc and R very narrow; RA and RS diverging at about 1/3 basal tegminal length, with RA pectinately 5-branched and RS 7-branched; origin of first branch of RA at about tegminal midlength, and much basal of origin of first branch of RS; RS originating at 13.4 mm distal of tegminal base with main branch gently curved until tegminal apex. MA and MP diverging at about basal 1/4 tegminal length; stem MA short, and forking into MA1 and MA2 at 9.8 mm distal of tegminal base. Both MA1 and MA2 very long, simple, arched, and ending in posterior margin at basal 5/6 tegminal length; stem MP slightly longer than stem MA; point of fusion of MP and CuA1 at 10.8 mm distal of tegminal base, and beyond origin of MA2. Area between R and MA rather broad. MP and CuA1 remaining united as MP+CuA1 for a short but appreciable distance, and exhibiting 4 terminal branches. Stridulatory vein (part of CuP) strong, slightly Z-shaped; 1A similar to CuP in shape but less strongly curved, and very close to CuP. CuP and 1A meeting at about their midlength; 2A slightly curved, not touching 1A. Whole tegmen fuscous.

Etymology. Specific name is dedicated to Professor Andrej V. Gorochov, an eminent palaeoentomologist.

Holotype. NIGP 148111, male tegmen, slightly damaged.

Age and occurrence. Middle Jurassic; Daohugou Village, Ningcheng County, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China.
