Material examined.

Holotype: male, Laos, Prov. Wapi, Wapikhamthong , 15.vii.1967, native collector, by light trap, genit. prep. 4109 M. Fibiger. Coll. BPBM.

Paratypes: 5 males with same data as holotype, genit. preps 3319, 3321, and 4108 M. Fibiger. Colls. BPBM, MF .

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 8–9 mm.

Forewing: narrow, blackish brown.

Transverse lines: black; terminal line marked by black dots between veins.

Reniform: distinct; yellow, outlined by black.

Hindwing: unicolorous brown with an indistinct black discal spot.

Underside: unicolorous brown.

Male genitalia.

Tegumen: narrow.

Vinculum: short, stout.

Saccus: V-shaped, short.

Fultura superior: Y-shaped with long, narrow arms; fused medially with tegumen and ventrally with juxtaanellus.

Valve: shorter than wide.

Ampulla: long finger-like, broadest subapically; densely setose with long hair-like setae bent inwards. Pollex : long finger-like, equally broad throughout; subapically densely setose with long hair-like setae bent inwards.

Digitus: huge, tapered, curvd, directed ventrally, apically pointed.

Juxta-anellus plate: round, as wide as high.

Phallus: straight, slightly tapered towards apex; coecum short and broad.

Vesica: with a large, straight, spine-like cornutus.

Differential diagnosis.

P. laosi is similar to the next species, P. flavimacula , but differs in having narrower wings, subapically broader arms of the ampulla, and a shorter, broader phallus.
