Material examined.

Holotype: female, Indonesia, Sulawesi, 27 km W Palopo , 800 m, cultivations/ disturbed forest, at light, 20- 22.iv.1991, leg. R. de Jong, genit. prep. 3927 M. Fibiger. Coll. RMNH.

Diagnosis.

Wingspan: 12 mm.

Forewing: narrow, light brown.

Transverse lines: brown; terminal line marked by black dots between veins.

Reniform: distinct, whitish grey, outlined by black.

Hindwing: unicolorous grey brown with an indistinct black discal spot.

Underside: unicolorous grey brown.

Female genitalia.

7 th abdominal segment: heavily sclerotised; asymmetrical.

Anterior apophyses: length 1½ of posterior apophyses.

Position of ostium bursae: anteriorly on 7 th segment, close to 6 th segment, slightly displaced to left.

Antrum: long, subbasally with one coil, posteriorly equally broad, almost straight, moderately sclerotised. Ductus bursae: membranous, as long as corpus bursae.

Corpus bursae: globular.

Appendix bursae: arising anteriorly from ductus bursae, immediately after antrum.

Differential diagnosis.

P. palopoi differs from other species by the position of ostium bursae and the very long, subbasally coiled antrum.
