Generitype of Gypsophila Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 154. 1929).

Current name: Gypsophila repens L. ( Caryophyllaceae ).

Note: Barkoudah (in Wentia 9: 64. 1962) discussed the identity of material in the Clifford and Linnaean herbaria but did not designate a type.
