Current name: Carruanthus ringens (L.) Boom ( Aizoaceae ).

Note: This varietal epithet is associated with the typical part of the species (i.e. everything except var. felinum L. 1753 ) and, as such, is equivalent to the autonym with which it is therefore homotypic. See discussion by Boom (in Succulenta 11: 141-145. 1959) and Hartmann (Ill Handb. Succ. Pl., Aizoaceae A–E: 102. 2002).
