Diagnosis. Eyes present. Mandibular palp of three articles, or absent. Maxillipedal palp of ®ve articles, terminal article small; endite lacking. Pereopod 7, carpus with anterior margin much shorter than posterior; two stiOE, fringed, anterodistal setae on propodus. Pleopod 1, both rami forming operculum. Uropodal exopod having strong distodorsal spike-like lobe. Telson lacking statocyst.
Etymology. The speci®c name derives from the Andaman Sea.
