Recognition characters: Gray and black species; length 10–12 mm; mystax white; thorax gray and yellow pollinose; scutellar bristles lacking, scutellar setae white, short and recumbent; abdomen black with gray pollinose fasciae entire on all segments; legs in females with basal 2/3, 5/6 and 13/16, respectively, of the fore, middle and hind femora reddish brown.
Distribution: Recorded from Wyoming by: Cole (1969); Geller-Grimm (2018); Wilcox (1960) [1881, Morrison ( HKM)].
Habitat: Sagebrush steppe and wheatgrass-needlegrass shrub steppe shrub and grassland, grama-needlegrasswheatgrass, grama-buffalo grass and wheatgrass-needlegrass grassland vegetation types.
Ethology: Nothing known.
