Geographical distribution: southern Texas, United States, in the Nearctic region to Colombia in the Neotropical region.

Material from Cuba: Granma, Río Yara, no date, Zayas leg., no specimen number ( NHMC) ( Zayas 1986).

Habitat: littoral areas of rivers; found in higher altitudes in Cuba.
