Description. Female (n = 6). Body polished and covered with punctures and silvery setae; length 9.0– 10.2 mm. Setae on head and mesosoma not exceptionally long and erect.

Head 0.6 × as long as wide. Combined length of clypeus and face 1.05–1.1 × facial width. Clypeus smooth except for dorsal margin punctate, slightly convex in lateral view, without central transverse ridge. Face densely punctate, slightly convex medially in lateral view, without a pair of convexities just above of each anterior tentorial pit. Frons slightly concave, without horns or convexities. Malar space 0.4 × as long as basal mandibular width. Genal carina low ventrally, reaching mandibular base. POL 1.65–1.9 × as long as OD. OOL 1.4–1.5 × as long as OD. Temple weakly roundly narrowed behind eye in dorsal view ( Fig. 21 D View FIGURE 21 ). Antenna with 38–42 flagellomeres. FL I 3.8–4.4 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view and 1.55–1.75 × as long as FL II. Preapical flagellomere 1.0 × as long as maximum width.

Mesosoma coarsely and densely punctate, 1.4 × as long as maximum height. Pronotum with rugulose area just behind of epomia. Epomia present, its dorsal end not reaching dorsal margin. Mesopleuron densely punctate; speculum with a large smooth area ( Fig. 21 E View FIGURE 21 ). Epicnemial carina present latero-ventrally and ventrally, its dorsal end remote from anterior margin of mesopleuron, without angulation ( Fig. 1 K View FIGURE 1 ). Dorsal surface of propodeum without transverse rugae. Posterior transverse carina of propodeum present and complete. Fore wing length 6.9–8.9 mm. Areolet receiving vein 2m-cu slightly basal to the outer angle, petiolated anteriorly; petiole shorter than areolet ( Fig. 21 F View FIGURE 21 ). Fore wing vein 1cu-a subvertical, slightly postfurcal to vein M&RS. Nervellus reclivous, intercepted posterior to the middle. Hind femur 5.1–5.9 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. Ratio of length of first to fifth hind tarsomeres 3.9–4.1: 2.0: 1.4: 0.7: 0.8. Hind tarsal claws pectinate by short teeth, moderately bent apically (less than 90°) ( Fig. 2 M View FIGURE 2 ).

Metasoma. T I 1.9–1.95 × as long as maximum width, finely punctate except for smooth areas on median longitudinal area, area along posterior margin and lateral sides. T II 1.25–1.4 × as long as maximum width, finely and densely punctate. T III to T V coriaceous with fine punctures. Ovipositor sheath 3.35–3.6 × as long as hind tibia, ca. 1.4 × as long as fore wing, and as long as or slightly longer than body length.

Colouration ( Figs 21 A–F View FIGURE 21 ). Body (excluding wings and legs) black. Clypeus yellow except for dorsal part, mandible except for base and teeth, ventral part of pedicel, and tegula yellow. Ventral part of scape and basal segments of flagellum tinged with brown to reddish-brown. Fore and mid legs yellow except for largely black coxae and partly darkened mid trochanter. Hind leg black to blackish-brown except for trochantellus, base and apex of femur, and basal part of tibia yellow to yellowish-brown. Membranous parts of metasomal sternites largely dark yellowish-brown. Ovipositor reddish-brown. Wings hyaline, without distinct apical clouded area of fore wing. Veins and pterostigma brown except for yellowish-brown wing base.

Male. Unknown (see remarks).

Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, and Shikoku), China and Korea. New to Hokkaido and Shikoku.

Bionomics. Unknown.

Remarks. Iwata (1958, 1960) described the ovarian eggs and ovary. Kang et al. (2020) described the male of this species, but it may be misidentified because of the clouded apex of fore wing in his male in contrast to the entirely hyaline wing in the female of S. takaozanus .
