All provided with red printed paratype label ( USMB, CCG, CMP).

Diagnosis. Dryops species with aedeagus heaving asymmetrical paramers.

Description. Measurements: Holotype: Total body length 3.90 mm, body length without head 3.51 mm, width 1.49 mm. Paratypes: Total body length 3.48–4.79 mm, body length without head 3.08–4.38 mm, width 1.20–1.80 mm.

Antennae with 10 segments. Body elongated, slightly dorso-ventrally flattened, in apical part slightly widened, brown, antennae and legs slightly brighter than body ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 3 ). Pronotum narrower than elytra. Elytra with larger punctures arranged in more or less regular rows, intervals flat, sparsely and irregularly punctured, punctures smaller. Surface between punctures microreticulate. Body dorsally with conspicuous pubescence of two types. Pubescence of main type with hairs short, cling and dense that punctuation of dorsal part almost invisible. Secondary pubescence with hairs long, bright, spaced. Hairs leaning posteriad.

Male. Aedeagus in ventral view with asymmetrical, smooth paramers ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 3 a). Aedeagus in lateral view with phallobase strongly curved in basal part ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 3 b). All dissected males in typical series have identical shape of aedeagus, this excludes a tereatological aberration.

Female. Habitually similar to male. Ovipositor strongly reduced. Shape of last abdominal sternite as in Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 3 .

Etymology. Name of the species dedicated to Renata Greń, wife of the first author. The specific epithet is a substantive in genitive.

Affinities. Dryops renateae sp. n. is habitually very similar to other Dryops species. It can be identified only by the shape of the male genitalia and shape of the female last abdominal sternit. The aedeagus of Dryops renateae sp. n. resembles only Dryops osellai Olmi, 1978 from Pakistan part of Kashmir, which also has asymmetrical paramers. But the shape of paramers and penis is different in the new species (see Olmi 1978). All other Palearctic species of Dryops have paramers always symmetrical. Structure of the female ovipositor suggests relation of the new species with a group of following species within the genus: Dryops caspius (Ménétriès, 1832) , Dryops costae (Heyden, 1891) , Dryops goidanichi Olmi, 1975 , Dryops lutulentus (Erichson, 1847) , Dryops nepalensis Olmi, 1986 , Dryops osellai Olmi, 1978 and Dryops subincanus (Kuwert, 1890) ( Olmi 1972, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1986).

Habitat. Nothing is known about the life habitat of the species. All specimens were caught at artificial light.

Distribution. D. renatae sp. n. is known from five localities in the western part of Tajikistan.

Variability. Specimens vary slightly in their body size, slight differences in the intensity of the brown body coloration was also noticed in some specimens.
