Nomada setteri Proshchalykin , sp. nov.

( Figs. 9 View FIGURES 3 – 9. 3 – 5 , 13–15 View FIGURES 10 – 15. 10 – 12 )

Diagnosis of female. The new species can be easily differentiated from other members of the Nomada roberjeotiana species-group by having an additional fringe of black setae on the pseudopygidium (setae upcurved apically) (except Nomada yanoi Tsuneki 1973 ). Nomada setteri is most similar to the Eastern Palaearctic species N. yanoi , but differs by having a reddish-brown T1 ( Figs. 14, 15 View FIGURES 10 – 15. 10 – 12 ) (black in N. yanoi ), by having wholly red legs ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 10 – 15. 10 – 12 ) (black with small portions of yellow in N. yanoi ), by having a metapostnotum with red maculae (wholly black in N. yanoi ), and by having 1–3 apicomedian setae on the hind tibia (5–7 in N. yanoi ).

Description of female. Body length 8.0–8.5 mm (holotype 8.0 mm). Fore wing length 6.5–6.7 mm (holotype 6.5 mm). Head wider than long; width 2.5 mm, length 2.2 mm. Interantennal elevation moderately raised and broadly flattened on top. Inner eye margins nearly straight, weakly convergent below. Clypeus strongly raised, weakly produced anteriorly. Mandible simple, somewhat blunt apically. Labrum wider than long; width 0.8 mm, length 0.5 mm, with strong transverse carina on anterior border. Malar space exceedingly short, base of mandible almost touching compound eye. Preoccipital ridge distinctly carinate throughout the head. Scape narrowed basally. Distance between antennal sockets 0.45 mm. Flagellum length 2.8 mm. Relation of first three flagellomeres 1: 0.9: 0 9. Pronotal collar strongly raised, distinctly notched medially. Scutellum strongly raised, rounded, with median deep furrow. Forecoxal spine acute apically. Hind tibia with 1–3 (one on holotype) large curved brown to reddish-brown apicomedian setae ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 3 – 9. 3 – 5 ). Pygidial plate carinate, widely rounded apically.

Labrum with dense shallow punctures, face with dense larger and deeper punctures separated by puncture width. Mesoscutum, scutellum, and mesopleuron with deep dense punctures. Lateral and dorsal surfaces (outside metapostnotum) of propodeum coarsely punctate. Metapostnotum weakly striate anteriorly, matt and smooth posteriorly. Metasomal terga with distinct punctures, basal half of T1 impunctate. Pygidial plate microgranulate mixed with large punctures separated by puncture width. Mandible basally and labrum with long dense yellowish setae. Clypeus, supraclypeal area, and gena with short sparse recumbent yellowish setae. Scape with erect brown setae. Pronotum dorsally with short erect brown setae. Mesoscutum, scutellum, and mesopleuron with short sparse brownish setae. Propodeum outside metapostnotum with weakly plumose sparse recumbent setae. Metasomal terga with short sparse setae. Pseudopygidium well developed with strong silver setae and additional fringe of robust black setae, the latter upcurved apically. Pygidial plate covered with short sparse setae. Head and mesosoma black with following yellow portions: paraocular area below level of lower margin of antennal sockets, malar space, mandible basally, pronotal collar dorsally except median part, pronotal lobe, tegula except blackish inner margin and discal translucent spot, axilla, and two maculae on scutellum. Metapostnotum and narrow anterior border of labrum reddish-brown. Scape, pedicel, and first flagellomere dark brown, other flagellomeres black. Metasoma black with following yellow portions: pair elliptical maculae on T1–T4, band on T5, with maculae on T1 smallest ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 10 – 15. 10 – 12 ). T1, anterior half of T2, anterior quarter of T3, and legs red. Pygidial plate black.

MALE unknown.
