Type depository. The institute where it was deposited ( Institute of National Parks of the Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi) is no longer in operation. The specimens could also not be located at the Royal Museum of Central Africa ( Tervuren ) or the Royal Museum of Natural Sciences (Brussels) .
Type locality and habitat. Democratic Republic of the Congo, Garamba National Park , 24 April 1952, in forest litter .
Note. Halliday et al. (1998: 46) considered Neojordensia lativentris Karg to be a junior synonym of A. areolatus . However, Rueda-Ramírez et al. (2019: 2390) did not accep that synonymy, a decision also adopted in this publication.
