Parasmittia Strenzke, 1950 View in CoL
The only known record of Parasmittia in the Nearctic was that of Parasmittia carinata Strenzke, 1950 from Nova Scotia, Canada. We collected adult males of this species from Mount Roberts Trail near Juneau, which represents a new faunistic record for the USA. P. carinata larvae inhabit humus-rich meadows and woodland soil ( Strenzke 1950).
