Stempellina Thienemann & Bause, 1913 View in CoL
Webb et al. (2022) reported larvae, adult males, and pupae of a species listed as Stempellina sp. 1 ES from Alaskan National Parks in Western and Central Alaska, but no exact location was given. We collected Stempellina larvae from many streams in the Southwestern bioregion, several creeks in the Mat-Su Valley, including Answer and Cottonwood Creeks, Kilolitna-Kanuti and South Fork Koyukuk Rivers in Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge, and several creeks on the Kenai Peninsula. Larvae of Stempellina live in portable sand cases and inhabit both lentic and lotic habitats ( Epler 2001).
