José: A. Tonduz 11795 (Lectotype: BR0000006914257 !designated by Trelease (1924, p. 225, pl.275);isolectotypes:
BM!, BR!, CAS!, G!, GH!, K!, NY!, P!, UCSB (fragment)!, US!). This species was also lectotypified by Burger
(1977, p. 77), but it was already effectively lectotypified based on the same type by Trelease (1924). Quercus seemannii Liebm. subsp. gulielmi-treleasei (C.H.Mull.) A.E.Murray, Kalmia View in CoL 13: 27 (1983). Quercus seemannii var. gulielmi-treleasei (C.H.Mull.) A.E.Murray, Kalmia View in CoL 13: 27 (1983). Quercus seemannii subsp. rapurahuensis (Trel.) A.E.Murray, Kalmia View in CoL 13: 27 (1983). Quercus seemannii var. rapurahuensis (Pittier ex Trel.) A.E.Murray, Kalmia View in CoL 13: 27 (1983). Quercus undulata Benth. non Torr. (1827), Pl. Hartw. 81 (1841). Distribution: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico (Chiapas, Guerrero, Jalisco, Oaxaca), Nicaragua, Panama. Villaseñor (2016) also reported Q. benthamii from the Mexican states of Chihuahua and Coahuila, but these reports seem unlikely.

Distribution: Mexico (Durango, Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Zacatecas).
