Type material. Holotype (in balsam), SBMNH 34396 About SBMNH from the “Berry collection 4102”.

Type locality. Monterey Bay, California off Point Pinos; probably from the intertidal and also found at a depth of 61 m ( Sirenko & Clark 2008); it was recorded from Canal Salsipuedes, Gulf of California (28ᵒ 35’ N, 112ᵒ 35’ W) ( Stebbins & Eernisse 2009).
