Cervidae View in CoL was based on differences in body size, coat
color and distribution area. Mazama americana is the largest species of the genus in Brazil, medium to moderately large, a factor that helps in the differentiation of the species. It has a reddish coloration, with white spots below the tail, inner face of limbs and ears.
