A Balbo saber-toothed, Evermannellidae ( Fig. 2E View Figure 2 ), was collected on 29 October 2017 during the survey EVHOE on the Research Vessel Thalassa from Ifremer institute. It was collected at Station V0494 (Southern Bay of Biscay, France), at 45.1322 / 45.1033 °N, –3.4696 / -3.5432 °W, at 750 m depth above a 1334/ 1340 m deep continental slope. The fresh specimen measured 123 mm TL, 114 mm FL, 108 mm SL, and the head was 25 mm long. Its weight was 8.3 g. The specimen was preserved with the collection No. MNHN-IC 2019-0095 and a tissue sample was preserved under No. BPS-3977. Recorded by JS. The species is very uncommonly recorded in the Bay of Biscay.
