Comment: incorrect original stem formation, not in prevailing usage; this name is a senior homonym of Photininae Giglio-Tos, 1915 (type genus Photina Burmeister, 1838) in Mantodea; this case was submitted to the Commission to remove the homonymy by emending the stem of the mantid name (see Svenson and Branham 2007: 243).
