Body orange. Eyes and basal triangles of mesonotum blackish. Fore wing brown.
Male genitalia: Pygofer with single macroseta at cephalo-ventral angle of lobe and 1 macroseta at junction area with anal tube ( Fig. 17b View FIGURE 17 ); apex of dorsal appendage bifurcated, with the upper tooth longer than the lower one ( Figs 17c, d View FIGURE 17 ). Apex of style foot-like ( Fig. 17g View FIGURE 17 ). Subapical processes of aedeagal shaft long; preatrial process slim and long, nearly reaching gonopore; gonopore near middle ( Figs 17i, j View FIGURE 17 ).
Measurement: Male 3.15–3.40mm, female 3.20mm.
Material examined: Holotype: ♂ [ NWAFU], CHINA: Sichuan Prov. , Moxi County, 1600m, 4.xi.1999, coll. I. Dworakowska. Paratypes: 2♂♂ 2♀♀ [ NWAFU], CHINA: Sichuan Prov., Wolong, 26.x.1999, coll. I. Dworakowska.
Remarks: This new species is similar to A. wolongensis sp. nov. but can be distinguished by the aedeagal shaft with a pair of subapical processes which are shorter, and the preatrial process being shorter.
Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the Latin prefix “ sub- ” and Latin words “ apiculus ” and “ fixus ”, referring to the aedeagal shaft having subapical processes.
