Genus Lybnopaeus Kazantsev, 1998
Lybnopaeus Kazantsev, 1998: 16 .
Type species: Lyropaeus avernus Kazantsev, 1997 (by original designation).
Diagnosis. The genus can be easily differentiated from the somewhat similar Lyropaeus Waterhouse, 1878 by the concave anterior margin of prosternum, short spiculum gastrale composed of a pair of non-fused apodemes, relatively wide tarsomeres 1–4 and different type of the aedeagus, with broad and rounded phallobase, dentate parameres and laterally flattened median lobe, provided with long, bulging distally basal apodemes penetrating deep into the phallobase ( Figs 1–5 View FIGURES 1–5 ). In contrast, Lyropaeus species have convex anteriorly prosternum, long uniform spiculum gastrale, narrow tarsomeres 1–4 and elongate, narrowing proximally phallobase, non–dentate parameres and the laterally widened median lobe of the male genitalia, with distally acute basal apodemes penetrating only slightly into the phallobase ( Figs 9–10 View FIGURES 6–10 ).
Distribution. Borneo (Sabah).
