Paromphacodes rubrinargo Warren, 1897: 429 (Type locality: [ Brazil] Sao Paulo); Prout (1912): 118; 1932: 43, fig. 4i; Pitkin (1996): 378, figs 36, 117, 166, 211.
Description. Warren (1897) described and Prout (1932) illustrated the moth as with dark green forewing and white hindwing, without markings except a white head with a bright pink line, a bright pink basal part of white fringe and a pink patch at the tornus and fringe of a hindwing. The “subserrate” antennae and the presence of the frenulum in the female type are also stressed. Pitkin (1996, figs 117, 166, 211) provided images for male and female genitalia of this typus generis. The simple valva and its slender costal sclerotization without processes are characteristic, as well as the long thin uncus and the long slender socii. The aedeagus is slender. The female genitalia are characterized by the slender funnel-shaped ostium, the long ductus bursae and by the rectangular signum in the bursa copulatrix.
