M. celsa ( Fig 15, holotype female, BMNH) ressembles M. foliata in the shape of pronotum and the pattern of the yellow bands. However, it is not as large as M. foliata and the horizontal arm of the L-shaped band is not extended to the apex of pronotum, but turns up before reaching the tip of posterior process, black.

Although lacking an illustration, the description of M. rectangula Costa is quite clear and detailed, which enabled us to synonymize it with M. celsa . The other synonym of M. celsa , Membracis flavofasciata Sakakibara, 1971 , is also illustrated ( Figure 16, holotype male, DZUP).
