Subgenus: Bolivarianus Mol subgen. n
Type species: Gomphocerus (Bolivarianus) hemipterus Karabağ, 1953
Etymology: The new subgenus named after I. Bolivar for the first Gomphocerus specimens recorded in Anatolia.
Diagnosis: The subgenus Bolivarianus Mol , subgen.n. differs from the nominate subgenus with the following characters; The tegmina does not reach the tip of the abdomen in both sexes, the alae is almost half the length of the tegmina, there is no apical narrowing in the male tegmina, the precostal field and the medial field in the male surpass the middle of the tegmina, especially the tegmina tip in the female is narrowed, the Cubital-1 and Cubital-2 veins are elongated separately from each other, the Cubital-1 and Cubital-2 fields are distinct and the stigma is absent in the tegmina
