Material examined. Eleven specimens: Gulf of California (Mexico), LACM-AHF s.n., 2 spec. (24°21’55”N, 110°15’55”W, San Lorenzo Channel , sand, shell and corallines, 12–26 m, Feb. 14, 1940, Velero sta. 1111–40). Baja California Sur (Mexico), UMAR-Poly 69, 6 spec. (approx. 24º16’10”N, 110º19’29”W, SEAL-UABCS, Bahia de La Paz, PVC plate, 1 month in water, covered 85–90% by serpulids, May 24, 1991, coll. L. Varela). Costa Rica, USNM 80356, 3 spec. (9º52’12”N, 84º45’30”W, Golfo de Nicoya, sta. 28– 2, 4 m, July 10, 1980, coll. H.K. Dean, as Schizocraspedon sp. ) GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis. For a revised description see Bastida-Zavala and ten Hove (2003b).

Habitat. Depth: 8–9 m. On rocks and shells on sandy bottom. Fouling species.

Distribution. Tropical Eastern Pacific. Gulf of California to Panama ( Bastida-Zavala & ten Hove 2003b).
