Type material examined: ♀, syntype, “Khunikaka, Kir—/ man, se Persia. / Zarudn 16 [hand written] VIII. 98” [print] // “ Idiocerus / prodigiosus Mel [hand written] / Melichar det. [print]” // “ Idiocerus / prodigiosus” [hand written] ( ZIN) .
Notes: Idiocerus prodigiosus was described by Melichar (1902) based on a long series of specimens (13 females and 4 males). The species was originally described from two provinces in southeast of Iran (Kerman, Bampur, and Taftan as in fig. 27) ( Melichar, 1902). Unfortunately, the precise location for “Khunikaka” in Kerman province is not clear. It was mentioned as an Iranoeramian faunal element by Dlabola (1981), occurring on desert plants, e. g. Calligonum .
