Type Locality: Canada, Nova Scotia, Halifax.
Vernacular Names: Northern Myotis.
Distribution: E United States and Canada west to British Columbia, E Montana , E Wyoming; south to Alabama, Georgia, and Florida Panhandle.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Formerly included in keenii , but see van Zyll de Jong (1979) and Caceres and Barclay (2000).
