Type Locality: Japan, Ryukyu Isls, Okinawa.
Vernacular Names: Southeast Asian Long-fingered Bat.
Synonyms: Miniopterus yayeyamae Kuroda 1924 .
Distribution: Ryukyu Isls ( Japan).
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable.
Discussion: May include medius ; see Hill (1983) and Corbet and Hill (1992). Does not include fraterculus ; see Peterson et al. (1995). Reviewed by Yoshiyuki (1989). Corbet and Hill (1992) suggested that yayeyamae may merit recognition as a distinct subspecies.
