Etymology. The species is named after the type locality.

Types. Holotype: ♂ ( NHMSU), PHILIPPINES: Luzon Island, Mountain Province, Sagada Town , underground river cave, large humid cave with a river, 17°05.095'N, 120°54.292'E, 1432 m, 28.V.2015, F. Ballarin & Y.C. Li leg. GoogleMaps Paratypes: 1♂ and 14 juv. ( NHMSU), same data as holotype GoogleMaps ; 1 ♂ ( NHMSU), PHILIPPINES: Luzon Island, Mountain Province, Sagada Town, Eco-valley Cave , 17°05.090’N, 120°54.292’E, 1428 m, 28.V.2015, F. Ballarin & Y.C. Li leg. GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. This species can be easily distinguished from C. lyugadinus by having a blunt embolic tip, the mesial position of patellar apophysis and the palpal tibia without trichobothrium ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 vs. Ono, 2009: fig. 27). It differs from C. grossus and C. simboggulensis by the indistinct cervical furrow and a “C”-shaped apophysis on tegulum ( Figs 1C View FIGURE 1 , 2C View FIGURE 2 vs. Forster, 1959: figs 98, 104, 105; Paik, 1971: fig 21, 26, 27). In C. grossus , a furcate patellar apophysis on male palp ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 vs. Forster, 1959: fig. 104); distinguished from C. yaoi n. sp. by the shorter palpal patella with only one apophysis and the lack of trichobothrium on palpal tibia ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 vs. 4C).

Description. Male (holotype): Somatic characters as in Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A–F, 2D. Coloration: Prosoma dark reddish brown. Opisthosoma pale green, with irregular greyish-green patches, dorsal and ventral scuta orange. Legs yellowish brown, leg I darkest. Somatic characters as in Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A–C. Measurements: Total length 2.03. Carapace 1.38 long, 0.70 wide, 1.00 high. Clypeus 0.44 high. Sternum 0.75 long, 0.55 wide. Abdomen 1.08 long, 0.90 wide. Length of legs: I 5.48 (1.72, 0.44, 1.48, 0.84, 1.00); II 3.58 (1.08, 0.34, 0.88, 0.54, 0.74); III 2.44 (0.72, 0.24, 0.56, 0.38, 0.54); IV 3.20 (1.00, 0.30, 0.78, 0.50, 0.62). Prosoma ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A–F): Carapace diamond, surface finely tiny granular. Cephalic pars moderately raised. Ocular area protruded, eight eyes in four diads, lateral eyes contiguous, ALE=PLE=PME>AME. Cervical groove indistinct, thoracic fovea shallow. Chelicerae robust, with a prolateral basal tubercle, four promarginal teeth and few long, plumose retromarginal hairs ( Fig. 1F View FIGURE 1 ). Endites constricted at median, distal serrated. Labral spur large and blunt ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ). Labium triangular, fused to sternum. Sternum scutellate, surface rough, rugose, margins fused to carapace ( Fig. 1B, E View FIGURE 1 ). Legs ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ): Leg I longest, almost 4x longer than carapace. Femur I enlarged and distally sinuous, armed with one ventral row of small tubercles. Tibiae I with a spine and a cusp-like setae. 3 cusps on tarsus I. Opisthosoma ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A–C): Oval in dorsal view, surface covered with dense short setae. Dorsal scutum smooth, with two grey stripes and a few orange spots in lateral view. Ventral scutum encircling pedicel. Book lung covers elongated ovoid. Spinnerets situated ventrally. Palp ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A–C): Trochanter very long, subequal to 1/2 of femur length. Femur sinuous and long, near to 4 times patella length. Patella with a tiny apophysis. Cymbium translucent, covered with sparse long setae. Bulb simple, egg-shaped. Tegulum surface smooth, with an apical apophysis which likes an inverse “C” shape in the ventral view. Embolus bananashaped, strongly sclerotized, distally pointed.
