Etymology. The species name is a patronym in honor of the collector of the type specimen.

Types. Holotype: ♂ ( NHMSU), INDONESIA: Sumatra, Jambi Province, Kerinci, Talang Cindang , near river, 2°04.834’S, 101°22.448’E, 1054 m; 23.V.2014, Z.Y. Yao leg. GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. C. yaoi n. sp. can be easily recognized from the other congeners by having a longer palpal patella with two hooked apophyses, one at base dorsally, and another at distal end retrolaterally ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 B–C).

Description. Male (holotype): Somatic characters as in Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 A–F, 4D. Coloration: Prosoma reddish brown. Opisthosoma gray, with 2 oval-shaped orange patterns and a pale green stripe in middle, dorsal and ventral scuta orange. Legs pale yellow, leg I-II darkest. Measurements: Total length 2.05. Carapace 0.93 long, 0.68 wide, 0.89 high. Clypeus 0.40 high. Sternum 0.56 long, 0.44 wide. Abdomen 1.26 long, 0.99 wide. Length of legs: I 6.98 (2.10, 0.48, 2.05, 1.05, 1.30); II 4.22 (1.25, 0.37, 1.10, 0.65, 0.85); III 2.66 (0.80, 0.26, 0.60, 0.45, 0.55); IV 3.52 (1.15, 0.27, 0.95, 0.50, 0.65). Prosoma ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A–F): As in C. sagadaensis . Legs ( Fig. 4D View FIGURE 4 ): Leg I longest, almost 7.5 times longer than carapace. Tibiae I with 2 spines. Three cusps on tarsus I. Opisthosoma: ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A–C): As in C. sagadaensis , except of as follows. The darker coloration, middle area formed a depression in lateral view. Dorsal scutum surface not so glossy. Teeth of chelicerae promargin more distinct. Palp ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A–C): Trochanter subequal to 3/5 of femur length, as long as the patella. Femur sinuous. Patella with two short apophyses. Cymbium translucent, covered with sparse long setae. Tibia with a trichobothrium. Bulb simple, egg-shaped. Tegulum surface smooth, with an arc-shaped apical apophysis. Embolus translucent tube-shaped, distally pointed.

Female. Unknown.

Natural history. The species is epigean and lives near the shore of rivers.
