Diagnosis. This species is similar to Eretmocera bradleyi Amsel, 1961 from the Arabian Peninsula in phenotypic appearance and male genitalia. It can be distinguished by the dark brown hindwing and the tergum VIII posterior margin deeply notched to 1/3. In E. bradleyi , the hindwing is mostly pale red and the tergum VIII posterior margin slightly concave ( Bengtsson 2014). This species is also similar to E. impactella in the male genitalia. It can be distinguished by the valva slightly arched and obviously longer than the saccus, and the anterior margin of sternum VIII shallowly notched in a broad V-shape. In E. impactella , the valva is straight and obviously shorter than saccus, and the anterior margin of sternum VIII is deeply notched to 1/4.
Description. Adult ( Figs 2 View FIGURES 2−5 a–b) wingspan 10.0– 11.5 mm. Head dark greyish brown, smoothly scaled; neck with white hair-like scales. Labial palpus with basal segment shining white; second and third segments blackish brown except second segment white dorsobasally; third segment shorter than second segment, acute at apex. Antenna black, 3/5 length of forewing, shortly ciliate in male ventrally. Haustellum covered with whitish yellow scales basally. Collar, thorax and tegula dark greyish brown. Forewing narrowly elongate, lanceolate, basal 2/3 uniformly wide, distal 1/3 narrowed to narrowly rounded apex; light blackish brown, with copper metallic hue; with four orange yellow spots: costal margin with a spot at distal 1/4 or 1/5, cell with a spot at basal 2/5 crossing fold posteriorly, dorsum with a spot at basal 2/5 and at end of fold respectively, the one at basal 2/5 of dorsum largest; cilia greyish brown tinged with orange yellow around apex. Hindwing and cilia dark brown, cilia tinged with yellow basally. Legs blackish brown except fore- and mid femora and tibiae orange yellow on dorsal surface, hind femur orange yellow on ventral surface. Abdomen orange yellow except dorsal surface blackish brown on second and third as well as on terminal segments.
Variations: The orange yellow spots on the costal margin and the cell are smaller or absent in two specimens ( Fig. 2b View FIGURES 2−5 ).
Male genitalia ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 6−9 ): Uncus strongly sclerotized, basal 2/5 fused, sub-quadrate; distal 3/5 bilobed, broadbanded, distally curved inwardly, truncate apically, with sparse setae. Gnathos arm broad-banded, H-shaped; distal process wide and weakly sclerotized basally, narrowed distally, abruptly narrowed and beak-like from before apex to pointed tip, curved ventrad before apex. Tegumen narrow posteriorly, broadened anteriorly, deeply concave in broad U-shape on anterior margin. Valva claviform, distal 1/5 densely setose and slightly widened, rounded apically, approximately 2 times length of uncus. Vinculum very narrow, Y-shaped, anteriorly extending to middle length of saccus by two straight gradually narrowing and weakening folds. Saccus elongate triangular, as long as uncus. Phallus less than half-length of valva, slender, pointed apically.
Segment VIII ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 6−9 ). Tergum tongue-shaped; anterior margin deeply, semicircularly concave to 2/5 length of sternum, forming two slender lateral lobes; posterior margin almost straight. Sternum with anterior half wide and parallel laterally, medially narrowed, subparallel posterolaterally; anterior margin shallowly concave in broad Vshape, forming two short sub-triangular anterolateral lobes with obtuse apices; posteriorly deeply notched to 1/3, bilobed, each lobe slender, slightly narrowed to pointed apex.
Female unknown.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the type locality, Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province.
