"Habitat in Virginia." RCN: 7162.

Lectotype (Mears in Phytologia 31: 465. 1975): Herb. Linn. No. 1115.2 ( LINN) .

Current name: Parthenium integrifolium L. ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Mears stated "HOLOTYPE: Maryland (or Virginia), Clayton (LINN!)". Although there is no evidence that the material in LINN came from Clayton, Mears’ indication of LINN is clear, and there is only one sheet there associated with this name.
