Subgenus Bambunella subgen. nov.
Type species: Symplanella zhongtua Yang et Chen, 2014 .
Diagnosis. Coryphe almost square or slightly elongate. Metope 1.5 times as long medially as wide between eyes. Pronotum with wide medial part and weakly acutely angulated anterior margin. Penis rather narrow, not flattened laterally. Hind margins of male pygofer often with processes variable in shape among the species.
Etymology. Subgeneric name is an amalgamation of “bamboo” and “nella”.
Composition and distribution. Nine species known from China and Vietnam.
